About Turkey Leg Hut

Third-Ward roots, world-famous flavor.

Turkey Leg Hut began in Houston’s Third Ward in 2015 with one outrageous idea: take the humble turkey leg, smoke it low and slow, and load it with everything Houston loves about soul food. Word spread fast, and a neighborhood favorite became a Houston institution.

We’re still family-run, still smoking every leg by hand, and still serving the food, the cocktails and the energy that put us on the map. Whether it’s your first leg or your fiftieth, you’re family the moment you walk in.

Our Story

Third-Ward Roots, World-Famous Flavor

It started in 2015 with a simple, outrageous idea: take the humble turkey leg, smoke it low and slow, and load it with everything Houston loves about soul food. Dirty rice. Crawfish mac. Jumbo Cajun shrimp.

Word spread fast. What began as a neighborhood favorite in the Third Ward became a Houston institution — the kind of place people fly in for, line up for, and bring everyone they know to.

We’re still family-run, still smoking every leg by hand, and still serving the food, the cocktails and the energy that put us on the map.
