Our Story

Third-Ward Roots, World-Famous Flavor

It started in 2015 with a simple, outrageous idea: take the humble turkey leg, smoke it low and slow, and load it with everything Houston loves about soul food. Dirty rice. Crawfish mac. Jumbo Cajun shrimp.

Word spread fast. What began as a neighborhood favorite in the Third Ward became a Houston institution — the kind of place people fly in for, line up for, and bring everyone they know to.

We’re still family-run, still smoking every leg by hand, and still serving the food, the cocktails and the energy that put us on the map.

The stuffed turkey leg with crawfish mac is unreal. Came hungry, left in a food coma. This is THE spot in the Third Ward.

Portions are massive and the flavor is next level. The Alfredo shrimp leg fed two of us easily. Vibe and music were perfect.

Worth the hype. Swamp fries are a must and the cocktails hit. Get there early on the weekend — it fills up fast.

Drove in from Dallas just for the turkey legs and it did not disappoint. Pasta Yaya was a surprise hit too.

Best soul food in the city, hands down. Red beans & rice taste like Sunday at grandma’s. Staff treated us like family.
